The best I've heard from Steve Earle in a while. The songs have a subtler, earthier tone, tastefully rendered in authentic sounding country/blues and bluegrass styling. 'J.T' reminds of earlier records like 'Feel Alright' or 'Train a Comin'. A deep sense of grief, love and compassion is felt on the final track, the only composition from Steve, all others composed by J.T. That they sound so good confirms what a great songwriter J.T. really was.

This record was announced for release when I was sick with Covid. X ,always has a special place in my heart since late 70’s early 80’s. It just made my day!! Especially the song I gotta fever!!
